Tourism is highly regarded in this country and it’s a major foreign exchange earner. The country has at times received more than 9 million visitors in one year alone. The government projects to have reached a target of 14milion tourists by the year 2011. There are various sites to tour while in this great country like the Great pyramids of Giza, Valley of the Kings, the Cairo Museum, Abu Simbel Temples, Kamak Temple Complex, Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha and the Sinai Peninsula found in the coastal area.
Tourism has opened many sectors in the country like the transport industry. Visitors to the country require passports and visas with the exception of Middle Eastern Travelers. The country is easily accessed by plane or ship. The country has nine international airports that serve all the country’s major cities. Cairo and Taba International Airports are the largest and busiest. Cairo International Airport is 15 miles to the northern part of the country. It receives flights from all major cities i.e. Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.
Tourism has made investors put all their money to tap the industry. The capital city Cairo has five star hotels, cabs and limousines to those who want to travel in style. One can use the trains that have greatly been modernized. The country’s railways system transports about 800 million passengers manually. You can cruise in the Nile River through voyage boats. There is the usual cruise aboard the Nile Cruiser often known as the Floating Hotel. It has swimming pools, accommodation, restaurants, night clubs, gyms and hot tubs. You cannot exhaust everything while on tour to this country.
